The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology released its final rule on Information Blocking as part of the 21st Century Cures Act in May. Implementation of the HHS Final Rule on Information Blocking Begins November 2. The HHS Final Rule on Information Blocking concerns the access, exchange, or use of electronic health information (EHI) and applies to healthcare providers and related entities who handle EHI.
